Lavender Touch Products
Over a number of years our work, in conjunction with NHS Health Professionals, and knowledge through our own Clinical Aromatherapists, has led us to develop our own range of Lavender Touch Products, to help with the side effects of having cancer, and other illnesses.
One of our patients, Pauline Birse, not only saw the need for a sleepwear garment for excessive night drenches, but with her textile background, and our support, she went on to develop it. Our Bamboo Touch Sleepwear is is now being used in our local Margaret Kerr Unit, Macmillan Centre, and throughout the UK.
Many people we treated also enquired about lavender touch creams and spray blends used during their complementary therapy treatments. This led our own clinical aromatherapists, led by Angela Secretan and Frances Gordon, to develop two exciting ranges to sell to the wider market for symptom control in those living with cancer, and natural skincare products for everyone.
Angela Secretan is an extremely knowledgeable clinical aromatherapist who helped set up both The Lavender Touch in 2003 - a complementary therapy service which runs in conjunction with NHS Borders, and also the complementary therapy service operating within NHS Lothian in 1997. She is a recognised international speaker as a result of this expertise.
Angela, one of our first aromatherapists to work in the Scottish Borders for the charity, continues to see patients for us in addition to her work developing the Therapeutic and Essentials Range.
Francis Gordon, clinical aromatherapist, joined The Lavender Touch a number of years ago. With many years experience she too works with those living with cancer in the Borders area as well as committing a lot of her time, with Angela, to the development of our product ranges.
